Field Mechanic

Spartan Staffing Solutions has partnered with a National Heavy Equipment company. Together we are in search of Field Technicians for their team in St. Louis, MO
 
Field Service Mechanics are provided with a well-equipped truck and travel to a variety of customer sites to provide excellent customers service while repairing, refurbishing, inspecting, and completing Life Cycle Solutions on a variety of mobile equipment including and AWP from different brand names.  With on-going factory training and development, world-class technical support and supportive and safe work environment, you are ensured a long and rewarding career.
 
Responsibilities
  • Experience and/or educational background related to mechanics, electronics, or hydraulic systems. Truck-mounted hydraulic utility equipment and/or aerial work platforms preferred Rebuild and/or repair all components and systems
  • Properly block, chock and chain equipment, and disassemble equipment as needed to facilitate major component removal and repair
  • Solid computer and shop math skills
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Schedules may not be the same every day. Overtime, alternative shift work and extensive overnight travel may be required to meet customer needs
  • Perform routine and operational maintenance to all equipment according to manufacturer’s specifications
  • Perform diagnostic troubleshooting and failure analysis
  • Perform equipment inspections
  • Record maintenance and repair work completing necessary paperwork in a timely manner
  • Complete basic and advanced technical training as assigned
  • Maintain parts and supplies needed for job completion
  • Maintain work area cleanliness and ensure shop remains a safe working environment
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
 
Qualifications
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Thorough knowledge of all equipment & operations that apply to the branch
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude, technical knowledge and problem solving skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Own tools
 
Experience/Education:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Mechanical or trade school certificate preferred
  • 3+ years’ experience in aerial equipment repair or related industry
  • Ability to read precision instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators, bore gauges, etc.
  • Welding and/or fabrication skills and/or experience preferred
